Exports: What “being a global player” means.

When it was decided to produce trucks and buses in Brazil, being “just another” plant in this niche of the market was not part of Volkswagen’s idea.

After all, for a corporation such as Volkswagen, the leader in so many sectors across the globe, the ambitious intent was to create new standards in the transport of passengers and cargo. For those who had this culture as a starting point, it would have been unthinkable to simply do the obvious or adapt products from other countries, as the competition had done. Originality, creativity, uniqueness and specificity were the goals for our R&D team since then.

The Volkswagen Brazil Trucks and Buses plant in Brazil is the first of the brand in the world. There is no need to point out that it produces global vehicles, in other words, international quality vehicles aimed at developing countries – robust and reliable trucks and buses perfectly adapted to markets with limited infrastructures and service/after-sales resources – note that there are already Volkswagen Trucks and Buses rolling across all the continents. It shows that for those who know how to do things with quality, the world is their only limit.
