Safety


The design of the Constellation cab includes materials and components with excellent capacity for absorption and deformation in the case of impacts, increasing the protection of its occupants. The cab structure guarantees maximum resistance in the case of turnovers and supports pressures up to 6 tons applied to the roof, as required by international safety standards. One highlight in theft deterrance features is the step protectors (optional items) that make the access of unauthorized people to the cab difficult when the vehicle is stopped or moving at low speed.

Confort


To guarantee comfort, the Constellation offers a structured suspension system with hydraulic suspension seats with shock absorbers. The driver also has the advantage of well-conceived ergonomics in the cab, a smooth actuation clutch and servo-assisted transmission assistance (on selected models).

Design


The two Constellations cab versions, Extended cab and Sleeper cab, are prepared to face severe applications. They were designed to guarantee the maximum productivity, comfort and safety in cargo transport on highways or off-road applications.

 

Interaction between Driver and Cab

The newly available Constellation cabs bring to the market not just what have made them an immediate success but also several important innovations as standard or optional. Have a look:

  • High Comfort Cab Suspension as standard.
  • High performance cab noise insulation package.
  • Optimized ergonomic positioning of the driver, permitting excellent drivability.
  • Option of a foldable bed in the Extended cab for those who need to sleep in the vehicle (available on selected models).
  • Tilting of the cab via a hydraulic system and locking with a key as standard equipment on selected models, assuring access to the engine only by authorized persons.
  • Easy action door and window handles.
  • Power door lock, power window and power mirrors optional on selected models.
 
 

New Powertrain

The advanced technology of Volkswagen Trucks united in one group three items whose reliability is well accepted by the market and made of them an innovative performance package for the new Constellations, 19.370, 25.370 e 31.370: the Powertrain – in which the whole is bigger than the sum of its parts. With the new Powertrain, the performance is proven to achieve the best operational speed for the transport of high-density bulk cargos over long distances. The explanation for this is simple: a new Volkswagen engine, model NGD 370, with 367 hp, modern and robust that when operating with the new transmission, ZF 16S-1685 TD and new rear axles, establishes a new paradigm for performance, economy and profitability for this class of truck.
